Animal Husbandry

We organically raise purebred Simmental and Limousin cattle, as well as Angus cattle that are crossed with these breeds. We currently have over 500 cattle. We pay special attention to animal welfare, not only complying with organic requirements, but also applying the principles of biodynamic farming. During the cold season, the animals are kept in spacious and bright farms in Vyšnialaukis Village (Širvintos District). Once it's warm enough, the animals graze on pasture. Some members of the group who work in animal husbandry established the Eko Beef cooperative in late 2021. The company is designed to meet the economic needs of its members in the marketing of organic beef and related activities. Andrius Gurklys, who has more than 10 years of experience in animal husbandry, was elected as the cooperative's head of administration.
